Whitby task force continues towards the goal of building a new hospital

Planning and preparations are continuing for Lakeridge Health, as it looks at the possibility of a new hospital in Whitby. Chair of the new hospital task force, Christopher White, says the need right now is great, and will become much greater as the population ages. White says their goal is to create a teaching and research facility that specializes in rehab and complex continuing care. White says Lakeridge Health is still finalizing details before making submissions to the ministry of health. More details of the multi-layered application process will likely be released this fall.
