Toronto Hydro warns public about a scam involving power saving machine

Toronto Hydro is warning the public of a new type of power scam making its way across the area. Authorities say residents have been approached either in person or over the phone claiming to offer a power saving device, which could see users slash up to 40 percent off their monthly bill. Officials add the fraudsters will ask for credit card information during their sales pitch, something Toronto Hydro never asks for during any sales presentation.
