A new partnership between Durham College and sixteen businesses in southern Ontario is aimed at improving productivity and competitiveness. The college was approved for up to $750,000 to team up with businesses, under the federal ‘Applied Research and Commercialization’ initiative. Finance Minister and Whitby- Oshawa MP Jim Flaherty says these agreements allow students and businesses to work together on new research. Flaherty says the government’s top priority remains creating jobs, while also promoting innovation and economic growth.
