City taxes to rise 2.93 per cent in Pickering

Residents will see an increase of 2.93 per cent on City taxes after Pickering council gave final approval to the 2012 budget.

The budget was praised by councillors as lean, focused on maintaining services, but some concerns regarding the City’s debt levels were raised, with $7.1 million in debt budgeted for 2012.
