Whitby putting plans in place to protect heritage in the downtown

Whitby is trying to protect its downtown heritage, while also creating a more appealing and upscale area. The Town recently completed its Downtown Heritage Conservation Study, and once implemented the plan would hold building owners to a higher standard. Mayor Pat Perkins says they’ll reach out to the community to find out what people do and don’t want. Perkins says a plan was recently completed for Brooklin as well.
