“Stay the course” budget approved in Ajax

Councillors in Ajax have approved the town’s 2012 budget, and the document is being called a “stay the course” financial plan. Budget Chair Renrick Ashby says there will be a 2.75 per cent property tax increase, which means an extra $32.00 on a home valued at $310,000. Ashby says no changes have been made in terms of services. Officials say just over $32 million will be invested in numerous capital projects including the completion of the Audley Recreation Centre and a retro-fit of the Rotary Park splash-pad.
