Oshawa’s first student housing project struggling

OSHAWA — One year after opening its doors, Oshawa’s first student housing building is struggling.

The Dundurn development is sitting at 60-per cent occupancy three weeks before the new school year starts.

“We’re about a year behind where we want to be,” said Carlo Di Gioacchino, vice-president of business development for Dundurn Edge Developments Inc. “It doesn’t bode well for more student-built housing.”
