Oshawa fire officials update by-laws

The City of Oshawa has updated two fire services by-laws.  The first deals with the placing of carbon monoxide detectors.  Landlords and homeowners are required to ensure their residence has working detectors on each level with sleeping quarters.  Chief fire prevention officer, Susan King, says they’ve also introduced some administrative penalties.  The city also revised its open air burning by-law.  Registered farm owners in rural Oshawa can now apply for a permit to safely burn off vegetation with larger fires.  For more information, click here.
