New Schools Being Built in Durham
The Durham District School Board (DDSB) is pleased to announce that it received Ministry of Education approval to proceed with the construction of a new elementary school in Brooklin. Ministry approval was received on July 15, 2011.
“The Durham District School Board is pleased to receive Ministry approval for this significant investment in our school communities. We know it will go a long way to supporting student success for generations to come here in Durham,” said Larry Jacula, Chair of the Durham District School Board and Oshawa Trustee.
Brooklin will be home to the Unnamed Vipond Public School to be located on Carnwith Drive West, south of Columbus Road and east of Ashburn Road in Brooklin. The Unnamed Vipond PS is proposed as 579 pupil place school. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2012 with a planned opening of September 2013.
