General Motors’ making a $117-million promise to Oshawa. The automaker announced today that the Oshawa Assembly Plant Flex Line will get the production of the all-new Cadillac XTS starting in the first half of 2012. Spokesperson Jason Easton says this investment will create or retain 400 jobs in Durham Region and the XTS is being designed to compete with other luxury sedans. Easton says employee moral is high right now as GM also released second quarter profits Thursday. They recorded an 89 percent improved to $2.5 billion.
