Durham Region officials taking a good look at affordable housing

Durham is ensuring everyone will have a say in the Region’s housing strategy. Housing Services recently held a forum to hear comments and concerns from key players, including builders, landlords and renters. Director Mary Menzies says over the next year, they’ll continue to reach out to the community. Menzies says at their recent meeting they determined that there is an ever increasing need for affordable options and developers should in the future be addressing a need for smaller housing alternatives, such as condos and bungalows.
