Durham Region and developer fighting a claim against the energy-from-waste incinerator in court
Clarington’s incinerator project is going to court. Environmental group, DurhamCLEAR claims the region has no right to build the energy-from-waste incinerator, because it violates a Clarington zoning bylaw. Wednesday, lawyers for the project’s developer Covanta and the region of Durham are expected to file motions to have the claim dismissed.
