Plans for a 36,000 square foot facility focusing on hospitality, tourism and urban agriculture are well underway at Durham College. President Don Lovisa says Phase Three is on schedule. He says they’re in the process of seeking site plan approvals from the Town of Whitby so they can begin to build. Lovisa says the Phase Three plans include a fully operational restaurant overlooking the gardens and a wine tasting lab open to full time and continuing education students. The building should be up and occupied by January 2013. The final price tag will be between $17 and $18 million.
