City of Oshawa in fighting mode over 407 and proposed ethanol plant

The City of Oshawa is gearing up for a couple of battles.  At this week’s Strategic Plan meeting, councillors talked about the ethanol plant proposed for the waterfront and the 407 east extension.  Regarding the 407, Mayor John Henry says they just found out the province wants municipalities to cover the costs for infrastructure upgrades needed to accomodate the highway, something that wasn’t supposed to happen.
