Building permit sales up in Whitby for August

Building permits and construction values were up in Whitby compared with a year earlier. The town issued 164 permits last month, mostly residential, with a construction value of more than $30.7 million. One of the highlights is a $1.3 million dollar expansion at Lakeridge Health Hospital on Gordon Street.
