The Natural Sciences Engineering Research Council of Canada has awarded 14 researchers at UOIT a grant for $1.7 million. Associate provost for Research, Dr. Michael Owen says this funding will support innovation, which helps strengthen Canada’s economic position. Owen adds the money will provide students with more valuable hands-on experience. UOIT joins other applicants across the country who have received $411 million in grants and scholarships over terms ranging from 1 to 5 years. President of the N.S.E.R.C. Dr. Suzanne Fortier says these programs are a key tool for unleashing creative power from our most innovative students and researchers.
