Ajax receives over $1.7 million from OLG for second quarter

The Town of Ajax has received a hefty pay cheque. They have received a payment of over $1.7 million from the Ontario Lottery Gaming Corporation. The money is for the second quarter, from July to September, for hosting OLG Slots at Ajax Downs. http://www.durhamradionews.com/archives/50336

Almost 11,000 students enrolled at Durham College this year

Durham College is celebrating enrolment. This year, they welcomed almost 11,000 full-time post-secondary and apprenticeship students. Associate Registar Lisa White says it’s a new high.  White says they’ve finished their Whitby expansion, and the food centre offers a full-service, green-certified teaching and learning restaurant for students. http://www.durhamradionews.com/archives/61089
