Durham REI June 14th Meeting

Our meeting will start at 7:00 pm and doors will open at 6:45 pm and end by 10pm.

Location: Abilities Centre Theatre – 55 Gordon St, Whitby, ON L1N 0J2

Cost:$100 per person at the door for non-members or choose a membership option.

Location Context: Our new meeting location is at the Second Floor Theatre Room overlooking the track at the Abilities Centre.  If you go to the front besk of the Abilities Centre they will walk you there.  Or simply follow the ramp up and you will walk past the Theatre. The parking lot is located on the West Side of the building along Gordon Street.

 

Before the meeting:
1. Bring business cards andprepare for networking at the end of the meeting.

Speaker Showcase:

Laura Gu joined Scotiabank Economics in November 2021 as an Economist. She provides research and commentary on a wide range of topics—including regional economic forecasting and government finance issues. She also supports Scotiabank Economics’ auto sector work. Prior to joining Scotiabank, Laura worked as a Senior Economic Analyst at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, specializing in housing finance research. Laura started off her career as a macroeconomic analyst at a Montreal-based investment research provider. Laura holds a Master of Arts in economics from McGill University and a Master of Finance from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto.

Jake Bannister’s career took off after he graduated from Brock University with a degree in Business Management. Since then, he has spent the last 7 years in the financial services industry specializing in alternative lending. Mr. Bannister finds his motivation in his commitment to establish, cultivate and manage relationships with broker partners. His consultative approach makes him a trusted advisor to his brokers and strategic partners, as he works to provide professional recommendations that meet the needs of his clients. Mr. Bannister’s passions include building long term relationships with partners and delivering exceptional customer service. An athlete at heart, Mr. Bannister was once an OHL hockey draft pick and avid golfer.

 

Ryan Carr is a full-time real estate investor from the Greater Toronto Area. He specializes in finding the highest and best use of real property, and coaching others to do the same.
Ryan has been known in the past for his knack at finding “hidden opportunity”, and is the author of a new book relating to land development and construction.
