DESCRIPTION:Our meeting is virtual event for Members Only and starts at 8 pm. \nSpecial Meeting: August 25th\, 2020 at 8:00 pm – 9:30pm\nLocation: Online\nCost: Members Only for non-members please choose a membership option. \nSpotlight Session – Bill 184 – Harry Fine – During the Bill 184 webinar we will discuss things such as: \n\nWhy the changes to RTA\nTimeline of Bill 184\nChanges happening post-COVID\nThe specific legislative changes\, clause by clause review\nTransition provisions are important to understand\nHow will this work in real life\nImportant takeaways for landlord investors\n\nQuestions are welcome following the presentation.   \nThe legislature has now passed Bill 184 and the bill has now been proclaimed into law.  In order to stay out of trouble\, you will need to know not only the technical changes\, but how to deal with them on a day to day basis. \nThis CPD for investor landlords will describe the history and background of this bill\, discuss the substantive changes\, and also looks at the tie-in to COVID-19.  The webinar is 1.5 hours. \n  \nSpeaker: \nHarry Fine is a paralegal of 17 years after sitting as an adjudicator at the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board.  In 2018 Harry was honoured with the Law Society’s prestigious William J. Simpson Distinguished Paralegal Award. Summers spent as a labourer on the construction site helped foster an appreciation for the work that goes into building a home\, and instilled firsthand knowledge of many aspects of the real estate\nindustry. He pursued Housing and Real Estate\nManagement at the University of Guelph\, and soon after graduating began his career in real estate valuation.The past decade within the industry has afforded Rick a broad range of real estate experience\, including: valuation\, appraisal review\, expert witness\, property tax assessment\, expropriation\, real estate sales\, property\nmanagement and residential construction. \nRick has the unique advantage of having worked both in the private sector – as part of a mid-sized appraisal firm based in Bowmanville\, ON – and the public sector – as a Property Valuation Specialist for the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).
